Well, you could always do a clean uninstall /reinstall which will take time and patience OR
You could go to theLight Scribe web site (link) and 1) Run the diagnosis test you see there. If the test shows that everything is OK, then download and run one of the free Light Scribe software you see there. or download and run one of the two trial pieces of software you find there. I use the Surething software all the time. I have not used the droppix software.
The diagnosis test might clear up some issues for you.
If you prefer to continue to run the Labeler in EMC 9, then probably the only thing that can be done is to try to uninstall/reinstall according to these directions.

From control panel, add remove programs or control panel, programs and features, highlight Easy Media
Creator 9 then click uninstall/change. When the installer/uninstaller window opens choose repair, next
run it and reboot the PC.

I tried doing the repair, then I tried doing a full uninstall/reinstall, but I'm still getting the same message
I have used this program before and it worked ok. Something must have changed that I am not aware of.
Thanks

Steve (sknis) did not suggest a repair of the software. What happened when you tried ALL of the possible solutions that he suggested?
The clean uninstall/install instructions are here, as was linked to, in Steve's post:
