Hi, has anyone got any thoughts about how I could get rid of "WINDOWS INSTALLER IS TRYING TO CONFIGURE ROXIO VENUE" also "ROXIO CINE PLAYER DECODER" please insert the cd. I have deleted Roxio off my computer XP pro, and the odd programme I start up has this installer message coming up, is there any way to get rid, I have manually edited the registry as well as using a registry cleaner which has taken me some time but this problem still exists, any thoughts would be appreciated.

Go to this page and download theWindows Installer Cleanup Utility.
Install it and then run it.
Look for any entry that says Roxio or Sonic and remove them.
BEWARE!!!! By doing this you remove the install info for that entry.If you have any Roxio or Sonic apps on your computer you can mess them up by removing the wrong things.
You said you no longer have any on your machine but make sure.

thanks for that response, I have tried that and it didn't cure the problem, but I think it knackered up my windows validation thingy as when I go for updates on microsoft it now says after 2 years of no problems that this is not a genuine XP op system, please pay £109 for a genuine disc etc', any way emailed microsoft and have given them a "tatering" if they don't sort it I am not to bothered as I also run Ubuntu os which I find great for general computer / online work, in fact it is much more snappy and responsive. Any way back to the Roxio prob' I have cured it in a way, I have let it pick the bits off the cd that it is asking for, so now it doesn't pop up any longer, funny things these computers.
It might be as well to mark the prob' as solved unless anyone has anything different to say.
