Playing Burned Dvd`s

I can burn a dvd movie and play it on my computer but it won`t play in my entertainment center.
      do i have to change the movie to a certain format?
  
   i am running windows xp home edition and have a lg super multi dvd player burner
       also running roxio easy cd & dvd burning software

You have supplied no information on what you did so it is hard to make suggestions.

To play a video DVD in a stand-alone DVD player it has to be created in a certain format. You cannot just burn a video to a DVD and expect to play it on a DVD player.

To creat a standard DVD you have to use the program Create DVDs from the C2010 suite.
