When I capture video from my old Canon camcorder, longer than 45 min, the audio drifts out of sync. This is a well known problem and I thought Roxio had a patch to correct the audio capture rate but I can't locate it. Using Videowave 7, great program, great camera, for 15 min clips. Any ideas?

Audio sync is a problem with all software…

If you are capturing with Firewire, stick to AVI files and have NO background operations running.

If that isn't an option you may be stuck limiting your capture time and putting the pieces together in VW. Actually many users prefer short clips for just this reason as well as a few others.

Using AVI files and have no problems with other camcorders. I have also tried capturing in other editing programs, one captures fine the other has the same problem.

Actually Jame's suggestion to capture smaller portions of your video is really the best way to go not only for the reason James mentioned but also most everyone will at one time or another edit their video (best done in Videowave BTW) and it is way easier to edit smaller portions of a video than say 45 minutes. I usually try and capture only about 12 to 15 minutes at most and then place them back together in Video wave after editing. That will usually solve your audio sync problems as well, like James suggested.
