Probably something I'm missing as I'm new.
How do you set the default button to be on the first main menu. And how do you set the order? or is it just determined by the position of the buttons and the DVD buttons (Left, Right, Up, Down) will shift to the next one in that direction?

Button order is predetermined by the template you have chosen. The 'first' button is usually the first one that you create and they go in order. Rearranging the buttons can mess up the order.
Most 'consumer' DVD authoring applications do not have this kind of control. Sonic's DVDit Pro will give you total control over button order.

I have not found a convenient way to rearrange the play order other than rebuilding the DVD.
THe frist video added seems to be the first choice always. This seemed true (not rigorously tested) even when the first video added is moved down in the list of videos.
