"finishing"

Question

I have tried on two occasions to burn a VHS tape to DVD. The last one I did was a 40 min VHS video which ended at 7:30 pm. At 6:30am this morning the software was still "Finishing". Why is this software not completing the burn process? I finally had to end the program through my task manager as it locked up my computer. I am getting no help from Roxio customer support. They either are unwilling or unable to help for lack of knowledge about their software. Does anyone have a solution or advice?
