Hello how is everybody doing today

I am looking for a little help when converting downloaded 2d video to 3d [ for use with red and blue glasses ] every time i convert a video it take all the color out and is also black and white. am I doing something wrong it is doing the same to photos. do i need a special camera can i do my old videos and pic

More information about what you are doing please.  You do know that 3D anaglyph will fade red and blur colors don't you?  Try it wiht a card of a different color than red or blue.
Why are you converting?  If you want to watch the 2D movie as 3D, then just play it in CinePlayer.  It will do it on the fly while you are watching it.  Avatar looks great that way.

i am just trying to make a few vid and pics 3d and have a little fun with the program got the pro version because it would do a good job. i know reds and blues will fade a little but what i am getting is not good at all. after playing with the program and being disappointed i looked around for another 3d video converter. found Movavi Video Converter 3D it a trial version and it work great even with a lot of red or blue. the Movavi is vastly inferior but it seem to work way better at creating 3d movies

Roxio uses ONE converter system for anaglyph…

You can get a pretty good idea how the outcome will look by putting on your glasses and looking at what you want to convert  

The program you cited, offers some choices in how the anaglyph is formed so the color change is not quite so startling but still pretty extreme.

I suspect if you tried to do the conversion in that program, then pulled them into Roxio you won’t get the same results.

Since you have the trial, that is something you can try??? Let us know if you do  

Otherwise, you have encountered the Laws of Anaglyph and there is NOTHING that will change that

The pic i posted of the RC car was only converted with Roxio and as you can see after converting to 3d it came out black and white along with everything thing else i tried to convert even video . The other program I tried is a trial yes and it work great doing the on the fly method of 3d converting it a 100 times better on video try it its free.  I starting to think after a few week with roxio 3d converter it was released to early and need more work as for the video and photo editing it the best around. Hopefully a update will come out soon to fix the problems

Lucky i got the creator 2011 from Wal-Mart so i can get my money back. The red and blue 3D don't work as you can see in the pic above and the roxio techs just beat around the bush when ask why

Did you ever talk to a Roxio tech?  None of them are here unless their signature says they are.

Red and Cyan are both mnain components in anaglyph (red is a primary and cyan is a secondary) and they WILL be filtered out by the anaglyph glasses - it's a basic law of physics and those are immutable.

You are looking at a red car through a red filter - that will remove all red light from the image and there's nothing that can bve done about it. It's an unfortunate fact but that's how it is. You will get exactly the same effect if the colour is cyan.

Anaglyph 3D has ALWAYS had that particular problem - which is why present 3D technology is using polarised shutters to avoid it

I just looked up your forum email address in our ticket system and didn't see you listed. Can you send me your ticket number via PM or on this forum so I can see what the techs said?

As for the 3D, one issue maybe that the antenna touching the edge of the photo is grounding the 3D image, reducing effect. You want what you are trying to capture not close to or touching he edge of the photo and is interferes with the perception.

Also, the car doesn't have a lot of 3D depth to it. Try another photo with a bit more perspective and make sure you adjust Red/Cyan alignment with the glasses on to get the right depth for the photos/videos you are using.

I know you're looking for a quicker answer, but it is a good doc to review and try making a project with the steps to see how it's working.

Wow.. I didn't know that it can be done. You have done it pretty well I think. I have tried to put my 3D glasses on and I was amazed on what I saw. However, I think that it lacked some normal colors. I am sure that you can do it. Keep it up.
