Can Hear Video But Can't See Video (Creator 10)

I have Creator 10 and have added a wmv file into Mydvd (and I also tried videowave).  In both cases I can hear the video in movie edit mode but I can't see the video.  I know the video images are there because I can see and hear it in Video trimmer.  The single shot image is also in the "box" in StoryLine (edit mode), but when played there is no image - it's just black.  Summary- can see and hear video in Video Trimmer, cannot see in any other place - only audio.

Creator 10 is an OEM from Dell and all support is handled by them.

Easy Media Creator 10 is a heritage product of a couple of years back.

Creator 2010 is a product that is one step back from the current.

Whc\ich do you have?

Please provide this information (link)  if you are serious about getting an answer.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.
