unable to play any disc burn from roxio. what the hell?

Haven't a clue what you are posting about.

BTW, if you are ripping commercial, copy protected DVDs the Roxio will not accept them since that is illegal. Discussion of that topic is not allowed in this forum.

You may quite possibly have used the wrong program, in the suite, to do whatever it is you were trying to do.  But, that is a moot point until you explain exactly what you were trying to accomplish and what steps you took, that obviously failed.
