I recently purchased a new Dell machine and have Roxio Creator Premier 10.3 (which I was told was the tool I needed).  I have a Kodak video camera that creates 1080p .MOV files, which I have successfully recorded onto regular 4.7GB DVDs using Kodak's software (a version of MediaImpression).  Of course, you don't get much time on a regular DVD. But my new machine has a BD-R recorder, and I have been trying to use my Roxio product to create BD-Rs.  I did write one, but the video only partially recorded with viewable quality on my computer.  But there was no sound, and I can't even hear sound when I preview the movie within the Roxio program before writing it to a BD-R.  And - the disc I did record was not recognizable to my LG BD300 BluRay player.

Anyone have any ideas or knowledge here?

I really doubt that it can, but here is an easy way to check...

Open MyDVD, not MyDVD Express...

If you don't have the full version of MyDVD, then it is out of the question!

If you do have it, then look under File - New Project - Blu-ray.

If BD does not show, then it cannot!

It is a bit confusing for us because none of us have seen the Premier versions but 10.3 is fully 4 versions behind   Some of the the 10.2 & 10.3 will do [Data BD but I do not think any were modified to do BD Movies

Take a look and let us know what you find

Thanks, Jim.  My version does do "File-New Project - Blu-Ray".  That's how I created the disk I mentioned in my post. As a side note, I downloaded a trial of ArcSoft Totalmedia Extreme, and that created a perfect Blu-Ray disk that I played with no problem on my Blu Ray player.  So I'm confident my hardware is working well.

With that OEM application, you have the ability to burn files to a blu-ray disc but you cannot burn video files that will play on a blu-ray player.  

Do you have a application in 10.3 that is named something like Create DVD?  

I encourage you to read up on the full version of Creator 2011 or something like Video Lab HD.  There is no free trial but you have a 30 day money back guarantee if you buy from the Roxio on line store.

I am really curious about your Dell version???

From the home page of the app, would you click on Help About and the Full Version and Build numbers here.

It is possible that there is indeed a version of the Dell OEM's that has BD Movie Burning  

They may just include it when shipping a unit With a BD Burner.
