I just downloaded EMC80_805_Update.exe.
However, when I try to run EM8 I get the following message "Certificate file is missing or corrupted. Please re-install"
The original version worked fine and was bought as a CD. Was EMC Vers 3.0.0 Build 3.0.96B
Any suggestions?

That version number is not the real version number. To get the actual version number, start one of the programs such as Creator Classic, then click "About .." and there you should find the real version number.

See the following post to see my similar experience:

http://forums.suppor...?...ost&p=40315

As part of my installation ordeal I also downloaded and ran the 805 update.  I couldn't tell if it did anything (BTW: Roxio, an informative message would be nice.)  but I am convinced it wasn't needed because my store-bought copy was a later build.

The reason I am replying is that I also got the "missing certificate file" message somewhere along the line.  If you are running XP and don't have SP2, I would suggest you consider it.  Most of my problems vanished after I installed SP2.
Software:
Roxio Creator 9 Home
Version: 9.0.088
Build: 900B88F, R03

System:
Dell Dimension 8300, 3.0 GHz P4 Processor, 1 GB memory. 50+ GB of disk free space.
NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 Graphics w/ 128 MB
Plextor PX-708A DVD drive, Maxtor 300 GB USB external drive.
I have verified that hardware graphics processing is being used on my graphics card.

I  see that all of my information has been deleted!!! That's so funny... I  thought that this forum was to help people that was having problems  with EMC software... however, it seems that when you tell the truth  about us being "beta testers" and here comes EMC 9!!! I still hven't  found a resolution for both versions (7.0, 7.5 upgrade which was  running great, and 8.0). I needed the information that was on the post  that was deleted and now I'm back at zero!!! It's serious to me when I  spend moneys expecting to receive a working product. I've woked as  Quality Control for over 20 years and by profession I should have the  right voice the truth!!!

#$^@ right I'm mad and upset!!! I've  played your game for about 10 months and still waiting for this  software to run right! Oh yeah... I will run right out and get the  latest version EMC 9 and add more to my happiness with this software!!!

I guess this will be deleted as well!!! The truth does hurt!!!

:)
