Hi all, having trouble copying a dvd *deleted* & looking for clues?
It's a commercial dvd I'm trying to copy to eliminate region coding .. bought unwisely! .. managed to copy another successfully althought the compression feature seems to sometimes interfere & generate its own error message. Overcame that by burning to dual layer Imation dvd which hasn't worked with this particular dvd. That created yet another error message & an expensive coaster.
Using a 20" iMac dual intel 1.5 ram, 250 HD, 10.4.7, toast 7.1, superdrive matshitadvd-r uj-846.
Have re-installed combo, as another poster here did, and have also tried burning from disc image. Using verbatim 8x dvd-r inkjet printable.
Get this message,

The drive reported an error:
Sense key = ILLEGAL REQUEST
Sense code = 0x24
INVALID FIELD IN CDB

Clicking OK results in:

Couldn't set up the track for writing.

Any help, ideas?
Cheers

First, try burning something else other then a commercial DVD. Try copying DVD that you have burned yourself. Unfortunately you cant talk about copying a commercial DVD here.

Thanks,
Have no trouble burning many and assorted including the unmentionable so will persevere and perhaps just resign myself to not being able to copy that DVD!
Kind regards & cheers
