What version of EMC do you have? What is the model of your Liteon drive and do you have the latest firmware and have you tried a different brand of media?
Complete system specs are helpful as well.

Claims V8 but posted in V7/7.5 so ????

If the Lite-on model starts with SOHR, LTR, SHM, or LDW it will only burn CD's.  There may a few other designation but these seem to be the most likely.

Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

How did you produce your slide show ? Was it using Videowave ? And answering the other replies as far as your system goes would help a lot.

I hate to do this but I have to disagree with part of your post Steve.I have 2 Lite-on drives, both SOHW,an 812S and a 1633S.One is 8x and the other 16x and both burn DVD's as well as CD's.You could still be right, just didn't want to confuse the poster.

My fingers slipped should have been SOHC.  I went to the Lite-on site and got those letters from their list of cd-rw drives but I may have clciked wrong.  I will change the post.
