I have a Dell Precision x64 Windows 7 and upgraded from Roxio 2009 to 2010, and I cannot access the Video or DVD programs; when I try to I am informed that "No permissions to launch applications". I have downloaded the Repair licence application but to no avail. I actually considered upgrading to 2011; but luckily tried to convert a video and realised that I have a problem. If no help is forthcoming, then I will seriously have to consider switching to Cyberlink PowerDirector x64. I do have MacAfee Total Protection on board. Needless to say, I would rather see the problem fixed!

Your problem may be McAfee related. Please read this

He said he tried that (the download is called "Repair LicenseC2010.zip").

Yes, I realize that but did he also turn off the McAfee?

I have McAfee Total Protection, and I have disabled it temporarily; waited 5 min for "Licence File/ view Edit" after pressing the button - just keeps on running on Task Manager, but no result. Still give the same message after running Licence Reset & Timelocks

Don't disable it - turn it off while you patch/install and then turn it back on

ps - do NOT run the registry cleaner part of McAfee

How ridiculous; the technical team advised me to have a different; special user account for Roxio 2010; I am happy to say that I have now bought and installed CyberLink PowerDirector 9; and it is working first time round (I don't know how good Roxio is; but Cyberlink rocks!); no such fear of being pirated that security preclude decent honest buyers from NOT being able to use a programme they (I) paid good money for! Wonder if it is just such issues that could induce piracy in an attempt to not throw money away? Now there's a thought, fear inducing reality - good thing it is not part of my ethos. If you can come up with a working solution I would be very glad to try it, but third time round and still no joy was just too much. At least I can now edit and burn my holiday DVD!

Good luck with a Cyberlink

The extra User Account was just being asked to get past other problems that your PC apparently has... It can be deleted after you install Roxio.

No go sadly! Reinstalled after clearing all files, the registry and removing all of McAfee; antivirus & firewall - still no go!
