Does anyone know what this means? When I try to burn a disc, it says 80046000 error while opening project. Any ideas?

This error occurs before burning even begins? It's hard to tell without more info such as your burner type and your system specs. It could be a bad file, bad media or a hardware problem or anything else. We need a bit more info as error messages rarely tell us much. Probably something the engineers cooked.
There is a hotfix for a different error number but you can try it to see if it helps in your case.

Thanks Paul, I'm at home right now so I can't give you the specs but it happens when I hit "Burn Disc". It comes up emmediately, before even 1% of the burn.

Do you know what version firmware you have? Dell has a recent version dated May 2006 and you might want to try updating if you haven't already.

Firmware is basically software and hardware that tells your burner how to operate. EMC has included in it a program called DVDInfo Pro (you can find it in the Home screen under Applications) which will tell you what version you have now.
If you don't know what you're doing, please have someone who does help you with updating your firmware.
