I put my Roxio Creator 2009 Special Edition disk in my 2008 Dell XPS Vista laptop to install the software, since the laptop runs faster than our 2002 Dell XP desktop, and the Roxio program is pretty slow to do anything on the older machine.

But right off the bat the install window asks for a name, organization, and serial number before proceeding.  The name loaded automatically and I keyed in the serial number off the disk sleeve.  But I have no idea what it wants for "organization".  This is a home use situation, not a business.  I certainly can't recall what I must have entered for "organization" when I installed the program on the desktop a couple of years back, and I can't find anyplace from the Roxio window's menus that I might find what I entered, so I can just use it on the laptop too.

Can you assist me in finding what I entered for "organization" on the desktop originally, or is it accessible?  And is it critical anyway;  does it really matter what I enter (as long as I write it on the disk sleeve this time)?  I assume this is just a formality to keep the disk from being used by more computers than intended or licensed.

Thanks for any assistance

You could go here  https://www.roxio.com/registration/login.aspx?lang=enu   and see what it shows.

I normally just use 'Home' for organisation - it never seems to matter. The CD key is the critical element

I dunno, Ogdens, that link just keeps going to a log in page that says there is a problem logging me in, even tho I am already logged in.  I can't seem to get to that page even if I log out, put it in my browser field, and try logging in there.  Yet I can log in and work here or anywhere else at Roxio (so far).

I guess I will try just using "home" as gi7omy suggested.
