I am running Windows XP Service pack 3 on a quad processor with 3GB of memory.
HELP! Windows Movie Maker 2.1 kept freezing so I'm trying Roxio Creator 2010. Starting to get a little frustrating.

I also installed Roxio Creator Pro 2010 on another computer and the .WMV or DVD was black. The music was there. I did subscribe to the online photoshow website. I was able to upload and share the photoshow through the website, email and facebook. The online site has no choice for burning a DVD. You can order one only.
Thanks Jamie
OK , you have the premium membership.
Go back to your members page and re-download/re-install PhotoShow 6. It should fix the problems with burning.
What type of image files are you using jpeg or other?
There are two alternatives that may work for you if the reinstall doesn't
1) you can download the on-line protoshow as a mp4 file, and then use Create DVD from Creator 2010 to burn it to a disc. Caution, sometimes the mp4 file gives you the same type of results that you already have. or you can
2) download the on-line photoshow to PhotoShow 6 and try burning that. Since it seems to have uploaded and plays OK, then it should be OK when you download it.
I think that the mp4 file will play satisfactorily in WMP but I would also try the free VLC Media player from cnet.com. Caution, they have recently started to "add" junk to the downloads if you ignore the options that are given.

What program from C2010 did you use to create the "photoshow"? While there are several ways to do it, I prefer to create my slideshows using Videowave (it offers the most flexibility) and then burn to DVD using myDVD.

When was the last time you rebooted, got rid of programs that you no longer use, get rid of junk files and defragged? Use these tools (link)
When was the last time you updated your computer? Here are some guidelines.
If you are using PhotoShow 6 and you have a premium membership, re-download PhotoShow six and reinstall it over what you have now. There were some output issues with an earlier build.

I installed WMM on another computer and had the same result. No matter what computer I ran the .WMV file on gave me the same result. My computers are up to date and run fine.

I purchased the premium service. I cannot create DVDs without placing an order. Isn't that correct?

Downloading the PhotoShow 6 fixed the problem. It thought the Roxio Creator Pro 2010 was different than the Roxio 6. Our son's graduation day is finally on DVD and my wife is happy (At least for the moment).
