I'm on my desktop XP Pro machine. This worked last week. Does Roxio have this generic error message for everything?

"There are insufficient graphics capabilities for the application to run. This can be caused by the following:
• Your video card driver may not fully support DirectX 9.0. Check to see if an updated driver is available for your card.
• Your video card hardware may not be sufficient for full DirectX 9.0 support. You will need to upgrade your card"

It does if the graphics or its drivers don't match the spec

What graphics card do you have and when did you update the drivers for it?
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed

They may; we don't ! ;)

Are't you more curious about it working last week but not this week?  What changed on your computer?  Did you add a new program or did you do some kind of update?
You posted as Video Wave 11.  Are you really talking about Video Wave 11 or are you talking about Creator 2011?  Two different animals.

Did you ever get your issue fixed the last time you posted (CinePlayer?

Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

I'm talking about Videowave 11. I've since this morning completely uninstalled Creator 2009 and installed Creator 10. When I try to used Videowave, I get the same error.

I don't remember an issue with CinePlayer. I don't what changed on my computer. The only thing I can think of is I've installed Google Music Manager.

You are really confusing everybody with your program names.
Do you or do you not have Roxio Creator 2011, the forum in which your posted.

C2009 is 3 years old, Creator 10 (actually there is no such program and you may mean EMC 10) is 4 years old.

Creator 2011 - Videowave 13

Which is your version?

I just installed EMCC 10 Suite. So, Creator 2009 is newer? Should I reinstall that?

I took most of the day to uninstall everything I could find of Roxio on my machine. I then installed Creator 2009. I can't copy video, I can't do anything with video in Roxio. I get the same error message.

First of all, why would they not support software from 4 years ago? Second, what can I do to fix this problem? I need to edit down some video, there is a time restraint on this stuff.

They support it; you just have to pay for support just like you would if you were trying to get support for XP.

Never trust Microsoft to have the latest updates for graphicsw chip.  I'm sure more than one of us think that the driver for the chip has become corrupted.

Is you computer a name brand or was it built for you?  Desktop or laptop?  If you give us enough information we can help you find the right drivers.   This may be close.

Also,  do this; it may help even without the new drivers.   Do items 5 and 6.  I know it is for Creator 2011 but the items to download and install are still needed.

It's a Dell desktop, with Intel 82865G Graphics Controller. I'm not sure what I'm doing here. I tried this installer: http://downloadcente...oadType=Drivers

but it clearly won't install on my machine. I'm on XP Pro, if that helps. I also have no idea which option is appropriate for me at http://www.microsoft...ang=en&id=15697

I've done items 5 and 6 on that list. I don't know how to find the right drivers at that URL. However, items 5 and 6 did nothing; same problem, same error message.

Do you have a freind that can help?   Did you go to the url that I linked to?  Have you tried going to updat ethe drive from the Dell web site?

Right click on Windows/Start and type in dxdiag.exe.  Go to the display tab.  You will see what you have and what version of the drivers. The windows that opens will look like this.  Take and post a screen shot so we can see what it says.

Folllow these instructions (link).  If you can't do it, get the help!.

Well, let me clarify. I'm not a complete newb. I can do screenshots and such. I'm just not all that up on updating drivers and such. BTW, right-clicking on Start didn't do anything. Going to "Run" and typing in dxdiag.exe worked.

I'm working on updating the drivers from Dell now. BTW, I'm attaching the screenshot you wanted.

You don't have the Direct3D capability and from that, your graphics just aren't up to the job

Those drivers haven't been updated by Intel for 4 years (check: http://downloadcente...ler Hub (GMCH)" )

Bottomline :  What did you change between the time it worked and when it didn't work?

In Video Wave, go to tools, options and select software encode.  Try doing a project now.
