I am trying to import an old DVD slideshow so that I can use some of the pictures in my new slideshow. I captured the old video using Capture in a DIVX format. The problem is when I import it into Video Wave and try to edit it - it shows up as one big file - it will play fine but I can't figure out how to edit it so that I can use the individual pictures in my new slideshow. Thanks for any help!!!

When you make a slideshow, it becomes one big file, that is the way it works.
You will have to split it at the start and end of a picture you don't want and delete that segment.
Another way would be to take captures of a frame so that they are pictures again.

Thanks - a couple questions (Probaly stupid ones...
Same question with using the caputre approach...when I am in Caputre mode it doesn't bring up the individual frames as it is capturing them it In other words, I can't tell what's being caputred till the whole six minutes of the old slideshow is done.......Thanks again, I appreciate the help!!

What tool do I use to split it (it won't let me delete part of it in Video Wave in the timeline/production editor mode) - again it's like it's one big file.

To split, position the slider at the point where you want to split it, then:
Right Click(On production in timeline) -> Split
As for the 'capture'...
At the far right hand side of the interface, just above the timeline view, there should be a picture of a camera. If you hold the mouse over it, it should tell you that the button is "Extract image from production". This allows you to extract a single frame (The currently selected frame) as a picture.
My opinions expressed are not those of roxio.

Thanks so much!! I am working on "split" and I think I can make it work....next step is to figure out how to get rid of the "old" music and add my own......thanks again!!

One thing you can do is turn the volume down in videowave timeline and then just add your new audio.
