I purchased Toast 11 Titanium because it was recommended by Tivo for transfers to a MacBook Pro using Snow Leopard V 10.6.8.  I purchased the software at the Apple Store and had to call Roxio Tech Support after several failed installs using the disc in the box.  With Tech Support help I got it working however my issues is all my tivo transfers freeze during playback.  I emailed Tech Support but their solution is to uninstall and reinstall... seems to be the universal solution for everything.  Can anyone offer any other suggestions to fix this issue... Other then purchase the TV shows from the Itunes store and scrap Toast 11.

I have lots of questions for you. Are you running Toast 11.0.4? Do you watch the videos by clicking the Play button in TiVo Transfer which in turn launches the Roxio Video Player? Are the videos that freeze HD or SD or both? Are you watching in Normal Size or Full Screen? What is your MacBook Pro's graphics card (found in System Profiler)? Is the freeze temporary or permanent? How much RAM does your Mac have? What is the screen size?

Something to test is to start your MacBook Pro in Safe Mode and play the video. Does the freeze still occur?

I'm trying to get as much information as I can because I haven't seen this problem on my MacBook Pro and it may help me figure out some possibilities.

I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!

5. Is the freeze temporary or permanent? Once the freeze happens I click the Ignore button and restart by clicking the play button.  The show starts at the beginning and I have to fast forward to find where I left off when the freeze happened.

6. How much RAM does your Mac have? 4GB

Memory Slots:

  ECC: Disabled

  Size: 2 GB
  Type: DDR3
  Speed: 1067 MHz

  Part Number: 0x31364A53463235363634485A2D3147314631

Thanks for all that info. From what you describe there shouldn't be any problem. One thing I don't understand is what is the ignore button? Does a button appear when the video freezes? Another thing to check is if this happens when watching in "Normal Size" view.

Regarding the ignore button, sometimes when the viewing freezes I get the error message the says "tivo Transfers Has Encountered a Problem" you have the option of Ignore, Retry or close.  I click ignore and it reloads the tivo transfer at the beginning and I fast forward to resume watching he show.

Interesting. I've never seen that. It is curious that it reports that TiVo Transfer encountered a problem when it is Roxio Video Player that is the application showing the video. Is it possible that TiVo Transfer is transferring another program while you are watching or are you watching the video while it is still in the process of being transferred? If it is the latter then a good guess is the transfer is proceeding slower than the playback.

Correction the error message does say the Roxio Video Player has the encountered problem my mistake.  Also I view the transferred program on my laptop remotely so there is no transfer in progress while I view a transferred show that freezes.

I'm stumped. The version of Roxio Video Player that was in the original Toast 11 did have some problems but those should be sorted out in version 1.0.3. Make sure that's the version you're running. Until others post about his problem I don't know if it is specific to your Mac. I'm presuming it was still a problem when playing after starting the Mac in Safe Mode. I can't think of a reason this is happening; especially with SD videos.

I have the same problem - 17" Macbook Pro running Lion 10.7.2 i7 2.3ghz - 8 gig ram - AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024 MB - I have tried it in full screen, normal screen - normally in HD - random freezes, sometimes I'll get 15 minutes, sometimes 30 seconds - running latest versions, player is 1.03, toast is 11.04

I have given up on this software.  The Toast 11 software freezes all the time and Roxie Tech Support offers no solution.  I do not recommend this software to anyone to use for Tivo Transfers.  I suggest use the $ spent on the software to purchase the shows from iTunes.
