The Advanced ripper in Creator 2012 write audio tags to M4A files when it rips from CD. However Windows doesn't seem to read M4A tags.
Here are some MP3 and M4A files I ripped with C2012 as seen by Windows. See the difference between the types?

Edit: Only the Advanced (Roxio) ripper makes M4A files. The simple (Sonic) ripper doesn't, sorry.

I last did an operating system update on:2011-09-28
I started Multiple Audio CD Importer.
And Get data from CDDB.
I riped CD to .m4a(44.1kHz,16Bit,Stereo,256kbps).
I launched iTunes to import the encoded file.
But iTunes(Ver. 10.4.1) will not display the track number.

When I first looked at both the Ripper and Advanced Ripper I didn't see the m4a format as available.
After being questioned I went back and looked and I was wrong.m4a is an available format.
Don't know how I missed seeing it the first time but SORRY.

The Advanced ripper doesn't seem to insert track numbers in the M4A tags. Since m4a is an iTunes filetype you might have to add track number manually if you want it displayed.

Riff, I was using this little Freeware scanner in that screenshot. It seems very good.

Thanks Brendon. When you said "tagscanner" in your post, you literally meant "Tagscanner." I located the scanner by Serkov. I downloaded it today and spent a little time with it. I'm going to need more time with that one, lol!
