I built a new PC with windows 7 Home Professional. I have 2 DVD-R Drives, D & G.
When I open Creator and do one "Disc Copy", of a Music CD, it works fine. When I immediately follow that with an attempt to do a "Disc Copy" of a different CD, Roxio does not recognize the "D" Drive DVD-R and that Drive is also no longer detected in "My Computer". If I reboot the "D" drive is again recognized.
It is a pain to keep rebooting or to have to copy first to the Hard drive then to the recognized DVD-R Drive. Other than this, the "D" Drive is always recognized.
Any ideas about what Roxio does, that no other programs or functions do and could cause this? How can I Fix this?

This could be a windows problem - open device manager and go to the ide controllers. Delete them and reboot. This will force windows into reinstalling the drivers for them

It seems to have worked, but I'm not certain. I didn't follow your instructions precisely. I was a little hesitant to trust Windows to install all of the necessary drivers, so I just downloaded the new drivers, from INTEL, and it has been working correctly since doing so. No more lost DVD-R Drive.

Actually what happens is the drivers are there (in the 'INF' folder) - deleting them just makes Windoze put them back
But updated ones are better anyway
