So you have a new MacBook Pro. It uses a different bus than older Macs. Popcorn 4 does work but you might also consider Toast 11. Roxio emails discount specials on Toast. If you're running Lion I'd go with Toast 11 over Popcorn.

Thanks for your feedback

Is there no fix for the macbook pro or do I have to shell out for a new version.

Toast is overkill for me I only need it to fit DL DVD's onto standard single layer DVD. Popcorn 2 did it well on my old computer

So if there is a simple fix for this, it would be great

Roxio has retired Popcorn 2 so nothing is going to change with it. What you might try is choosing Save as Disc Image from the File menu instead of trying to burn that disc. When the disc image is finished change the .toast extension to .dmg or .iso and use Disk Utility to burn that to DVD.

When the disc image is finished change the .toast extension to .dmg or .iso and use Disk Utility to burn that to DVD.

My Disk Utility (v12, Lion) will work on .toast disk images without renaming the suffix, so that last step may not be needed (anymore).
