Toast doesn't seem to be able to use DVD-RWs that have been formatted on my DVD recorder. It won't even erase them - it tries to but fails with a big minus error code. Does anyone know why it might be behaving like this?

It works fine with DVD-RW burned with my Pioneer standalone DVD recorder. To access content on the DVD-RW click on the Media button to enter the Media Browser. Choose DVD with the top button. Go down to the titles level with the bottom button, select the titles in the list that appears and drag them to the video window.

As for erasing the recorder-formatted DVD-RW's it works for me as well. I don't recall whether I did a quick erase or full erase. Toast, however, doesn't do the same formatting that my recorder does (at least not if I want to record in VR mode which is what I do). So it makes most sense for me to have some DVD-RWs that I use for burning with Toast that are different from the ones I use with my standalone recorder. Since I'm using VR-mode on the recorder I just delete the titles from the disc rather than reinitialize the discs to erase them.
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!

I did a bit of research on the model of DVD burner I have (Pioneer DVR-106D). Turns out it can't write, re-write, record or re-record x4 DVD-RWs - which, of course, were the ones I was having trouble with.

So that explains that, then!

Thanks for your helpful response.
