I just got this title but before I open the box I want to make sure it can do what I need it to.

I've been building up my classical music collection from cd's borrowed from local libraries.  Anyhow, I ripped them through Windows Media Player in Win7 in loss-less (?) quality.  I have a few hundred tracks on my hard drive and of these I have over a hundred favorites saved on a playlist.

Questions are, can I import the playlist from WMP, and can I convert those tracks into MP3?

Yes!

and Yes!

The Suite includes Music Disc Creator...

After you select your Type of Project, MP3 in this case, you pick Add Audio Tracks and selecect your WMP Playlist:

Then when you are done, instead of Burn pick Output to Hard Disk ;)

Thank you Mr. Hardin!  I wasn't expecting this quick of a reply, certainly not on a Saturday morning.  I ripped the box open and installed this software as soon as I got done reading your reply.  Thank you for adding visual aids as well.  I was able to do as you described.

A few more questions regarding this.  Is there volume leveling and noise reduction for MP3's?  Also, is this title compatible with the iPhone4S?  I haven't been successful sending newly created MP3s into this phone (it's not listed as an available device/drive).

When did the phone come out? A couple of weeks ago, maybe?

When did the software come out? Years ago, depending on the version.  So, you aren't going to see the phone listed anywhere in that software, or any other Roxio software, for that matter.

I can see where you stand and thank you for your reply.  But software can be updated with a patch at any point of its life (although at the discretion of its developer) and given that iPhones are pretty significant, I would think that developers would attempt to keep current.  On the other hand, I'm seeing more and more of one year product cycles and then support ends, and users are more or less forced to purchase an all new version.  Capitalism can be a bitch.

 this is a User Forum. It is very, very, VERY rare to see anyone from Roxio here ;)

There won't be any updates for the Red Box Software... Likewise while I am sure the iPhone 4S will be added to the next Creator Suite, I doubt it will ever find its' way into an update

If you look around in the software a little more, at the bottom of the Audio is Sound Editor... In there you have more options, but both have "Maximize Volume" option, which is what you are looking for to level the volume ;)

An mp3 is an mp3, are you saying that the new iPhone doesn't recognize an international standard??? Otherwise, I would think your Apple Sync Software would be what you would use to add music & playlists to the phone???

Talk about this some more. Tell us what stumbling blocks you encounter and we will see what we can come up with... You get to be our Test Monkey
