How to make pictures clear???

I am having trouble making pictures clear.  The pictures seem grainey.

If your pictures are grainy, your resolution is probably too low.

Start again, using a higher resolution.

A little more info on what you are doing and where these pictures came from would be a big help

YIKES!!! So many questions.  Maybe I should contact customer service.

What am I using to view the movie/slideshow/video....I am viewing through the Roxio viewer - format MPEG4.

Does that answer your question?  I am a 100% novice at this stuff.

Actually last night I ended up building my own movie through Roxio "Edit Video" Advanced section.  

Got all the pictures in order, added in the music, viewed my work...it was grainy.  That is the only issue I am having at this point.

You will have even more questions from Customer Service!

What is it you are trying to create? A DVD, a simple slideshow video or what?

Perhaps if you explained, step-by-step what you did we can figure out what you are doing wrong.

What is the Roxio Viewer? If you are referring to a preview window then that is not at all indicative of the final result.

I am trying to create a video for a facebook page.  I tried Windows Live Messenger, was able to upload it and turned out blurry but I read that they (Facebook) compress videos to their conditions and even if your video was 100% clear it won't be once it's uploaded to Facebook.  However I've seen plenty of very clear videos.  

Facebook supports almost all video file types. Here's the complete list:

The aspect ratio of the video has to be between 9x16 and 16x9, and the video cannot exceed the file size or length that the upload page suggests.

Generally, the best format to upload is H.264 video with AAC audio in MOV or MP4 format. H.264 currently offers the best video compression available, and due to file size limitations, this format is the optimal choice for Facebook Video.

To avoid the rescaling of your video by Facebook's encoder, use a file with the larger edge of the video not exceeding 1280px. If your video is less than 1280px in size on the larger edge, try to keep your dimensions to multiples of 16px for best compression.

Keep the frame rate of your video at or below 30fps.

Use stereo audio with a sample rate of 44,100hz.

That is all very nice but what steps are you doing? What is the source: photos, videos? Where did you get them? What is Roxio Viewer?
