starts running the setup program again. i have a core 2 duo 2.4 Ghz, 6 gig ram, windows 7 pro 64 bit. the system requirements are met by my computer. i have uninstalled and reinstalled the program with the same results. i read people having problems with installation and tried some of the solutions that they suggested but still have the problem. (net framework was one i tried)
Roxio should work out major bugs like this before releasing a new product for i think it is deceiving the users when a product don't work as it should.
any suggestions from the public because i don't expect a solution from Roxio any time soon.

When you say you "Bought" the Creator 2012 program, did you buy it from a retail dealer or buy it from Roxio as a download ?
When you say you have tried re-installing the program several times and still have the same problem, did you do a complete re-install
or did you try doing a "Repair" ?
And when you say you uninstalled Creator 2010, can you give some information as to how you did your un-install ?

Define 'lots' - there are scarcely more than a couple of dozen posts on this issue and they almost all are down to a registry problem or the installation of the MS apps in Windows itself.
I've installed it a few times (after re-formatting and doing all Windows updates) and never had a single problem doing that

The step for uninstall is :-
1) First uninstall the product.
2) Then restart the computer.
3) use the registry keys to completely remove the files from the registry
4) again restart the computer
5) Go delete the folder in c:\Program Files ( The name of the folder will be the same name as the name of the product)
6) Now freshly install again.
Hope this will work.

Nayan, please stop giving advice that can hurt people's computer or that are incomplete. Editing a Registry should be done by only by the most experienced computer user. Any mistakes could render the computer useless. Creator 2012 has a very good uninstaller built in.
If the poster want more because they feel that that unstall program doesn't do its job, then something like Revo Uninstaller in the Moderate mode could be used.

check out other social sites and you will understand the definition of "lots" and the problems people are having with creator 2012. been there done that with re installing windows. the results are the same. the program is just buggy as hell and should never had been released at the present time. the Roxio Creator 2012 retail box states that is works with win 7 32 or 64 bit versions. it is deceptiveness for Roxio to release a product that is buggy. the product as of right now has a fix to the setup.exe file so the program will recognize the installation key. Does that sound like a ready for release software version? i think not.

I repeat - the number of reports of installation problems are first, VERY low and second all stem from a bad Windows setup
Now that mightn't suit your criteria of a bug - but that's how it is
If the program was buggy to that extent - how come the vast majority have no problems in installation?
