Hello,

I just bought Easy Media Crator 8 in Switzerland.  I installed the English version when given language choices.

the software says I have the following build:

Module Name: Roxio Creator 8 Suite Home
Version: 3.0.0
Build: 3.0.96B

I am unable to install the updates and get a message saying thatI don't have the correct  product installed.
Advice would be appreciated

Thank-you

The build and version numbers that you posted, mean nothing.  Open up Creator Classic, click on Help, click on About, and if your build number starts with 805......., you already have the latest build.

Which update did you download?  Was it for the correct version (6, 7, 8) and flavour (Deluxe, suite, essentials)?  Not sure if the second one really matters... but it could...
My opinions expressed are not those of roxio.

Go back and read what I wrote.  You will have to open one of the programs, not the Home Help.  Click on Applications, then click on Creator Classic.

thank-you for your patience and help.  Strange that they don't put the version in the main software interface.

OK I found what you meant

I have version 805B56B ENU so I guess I am pretty close to having the same code as the update.

Sorry for misunderstanding your 1st reply and:

Thank-you for your kind help.

You are welcome, and no problem on the misunderstanding.  You are not the first. :)   You do have the latest build of the software, without moving on up to the Deluxe suite.

Okay, if we all have the latest build and patch....what the heck is going on with why we can't open "Roxio Central"?  All that happens is I briefly get the red "Roxio" name, then behind it pops up the error:  "invalid pointer(comError, 80004003).  I can't believe they would sell software that won't work from the start, it simply blows my mind.....I'm speechless!!

A frustrated member,

David

You are frustrated, but I have no problem opening the Home.  Maybe someone can stop in and help.  It seems to me that I saw another post about the same error.  I will take a look around the forums, and see if I can find it.  You should too.

Although it is not really specific to your error message, try this patch:
