I have a .mov file using Canon ELPH 300 HS (1080p) to record. I can play that video file with excellent picture and sound on Windows Vista. But if I use it to convert 2d to 3d using Edit Video Advance, the sound play for a little and the rest of the video file has no sound. For instance: a 20 seconds .mov file that plays fine by itself from beginning to the end but after convert to 3d, the sound stops at 13 seconds and the last 7 seconds is silent. For the .mov clip 1 min 43 seconds, the sound stops at 35 seconds and the rest is silent. The picture video is fine all the way to the end. No matter what output I select, the problem is still the same.
I'm using Creator 2012 Pro.
Please advice. Thanks.

Any split, transition, special effect, etc.?
Also, since it is a short clip I'd like you to try 2 things.
First is to load it into VideoWave as a 2D and do an Export As. Pick any mpeg of equal quality. Then use that new file as your 3D source
Second, can you make up a short test file you could post on a hosting site, so we can try it out. Of course make sure it is one where the Audio fails
A good site to use is this one - UpForDown

Hi Jim_Hardin,
I didn't use any split, transition or special effect at all on the clip. Basically, I add a video file, click on Output and Export As.
Here is the problem I just realized from the VideoWave. I have 15 video clips (.mov) recorded from the Canon camera. The shortest is about 20 seconds and the longest is about 5 min 31 sec. I tested all of them by playing those clips normally from my desktop and they all work fine from beginning to the end (video and sound).
Now from the Roxio Creator Pro, I click on Video/Movies -> Edit Video - Advanced (Roxio VideoWave) -> Add Photo/Video -> I choose one of my video clip (.mov) -> then I click on Play button without adding any transition or special effect, the sound of the video clip stop a little pass 1/2 but the video still plays until the end. In other words, the .mov clip already has problem right after I add it in VideoWave, before I even do anything else. All other .mov video clips have the same problem. The sound doesn't play all the way to the end.
I have problem uploading at the website you recommended. So I upload a short video clip MVI_0054.MOV (76.53MB) to mediafire.com The download link is:

Thanks for your help

I was playing with it for a couple of hours and got mostly nowhere!
The file is as you say, missing Audio when used in 2012 VideoWave:

I spent most of my time looking for a 'simple' fix that you can apply but the best I can come up with, for now, is to use a 3rd Party converter such as, Any Video Converter, HERE.
Convert the offending files to anything else and use the converted files. That is the best I can come up with at the moment...
In order to document this when I pass it along to Roxio,

One 'solution' I fell over was to use the DivX Converter which is bundled with Creator 2012:
DivX Sol 1.jpg 72.48K

The MKV output file it makes has the Audio intact and is accepted by VideoWave
They seem to be a pretty close match, but be sure and try some originals and converted ones side by side in a test movie and make sure they are acceptable to you.
(some people swear by DivX but when a file is 1/4 of the original size, I get suspicious
DivX Sol 2.jpg 115.6K

At least with the DivX Converter, you can add all of your files and convert them as a batch! There is an option to Combine which might be handy as well, otherwise it will produce seperate clips

There are a lot to absorb right now, LOL. I'll try to work on it. Will post another reply if I'm success. Crossing my fingers
