My new digital camera creates .MOV files which I transfer to my PC.  When I try opening in CinePlayer, I get a message, "File format not supported. Please install appropriate decoders to play the file."  Below is information from Roxio Article: Creator 2009 Supported File Types indicating .MOV is a supported file type.

Supported Input Formats
Video: AVI, DV, HDV, DV-AVI, MPEG-1/2/4, MPEG2-HD, DVD-Video**, IFO/VOB, DivX, DivX
HD, XviD, DVR-MS, TiVo, ASF, MOV, WMV, QuickTime, 3GP, MPEG2 Transport Stream, AVC
(H.264), AVCHD, .MOD (JVC Everio cameras)
Audio: Audio CD, MP3, WAV, WMA, Dolby Digital AC-3, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, M4A, MP4,
Playlists (WPL, ASX, M3U, PLS, XSPF)
Image: JPG, PNG, TIFF, BMP, GIF

Can anyone tell me how to convert the .MOV file to AVI for use in Creator 2009 Ultimate?

Try to change the file extension to .avi, under folder options, hide extensions has to be unchecked. Have your .mov file in the folder you change the folder options.

If that don't work folks around here use anyvideoconverter Google a free download software.
