I am capturing videos from a vhs to roxio media creator 8. That works fine. After I trim what I want in VideoWave I then transfer it to MyDVD. So far so good. But now when I want to add or edit chapters the button is greyed out under the movie tab on top. It isn't even in the side edit tab. Can anyone tell me why I can't do this?

You first add a movie. RIGHT click on the linked button and select EDIT CHAPTERS. If you have not selected a movie, "edit chapters" will be greyed out.

Do you mean right click on the thumbnail that is on the menu? Edit chapters is not there. All the things I can choose from are in this order: undo, redo, cut, copy, paste, delete, edit movie, select thumbnail, go to linked movie/menu. That's it. Edit chapters is not there and I after I select the movie from the menu it is still greyed out under the movie tab on top. Can you still help me?

Odd Edit Chapters should be between "Edit Movie" and "Select Thumbnail". Which program did you purchase? The 'Essentials' version is only one that I know that may not have this option.

This software came with the dvd burner I bought. It's called roxio creator 8.2 XE. I looked on roxio.com and did not see anything that matches this. Ever heard of this software?

Sorry, ,I haven't, but software included with DVD burners is ALWAYS Limited versions. If you really like the software, maybe there is an upgrade price break. You can contact Sonic/Roxio Customer Service for that.

Is that a Mad Dog burner you picked up?
According to this article, that's supposed to be a "full feature" version of the product. Since it's an OEM supplied version, I suggest contacting the drive manufacturer to see if they can help you out or supply a list of the features that are supposed to be available.

I don't think it's mad dog. Here is a link to what I have:

I didn't buy it from this website though. That's just a picture of it.

My suggestion still applies. Contact Samsung (manuf apparently of your drive), or the place you purchased it from to see what features are supposed to be available.

Interesting, in the US that OEM usually ships with versions of Nero on it. Did you buy it from a local vendor?
