I have Windows XP Media Center Edition and believe that my computer meets all of the other requirements.

Run your Windows Media Player
Go to the toolbar Help button
Click on 'About Media Player' a box should open telling you the version number.

I have version 9, but it doesn't seem to be messing the software up any. I'm trying to see what happens. I'm running it on a FAT32 drive in XP.
