Installation Problems

Question

I am having some issues getting this program to install on my system. I have windows 7 enterprise x64 sp1, fully patched and drivers up to date. When installing, the installer hangs at .net 3.5.1 then rolls back. In the log, I find:

12/19/11 20:26:03 - Action InstallActions.DOTNETFX_351.INSTALLDOTNETFX35_FUL failed with exit code 5100.

12/19/11 20:26:03 - Installation failed with error code 5100

12/19/11 20:26:03 - Rolling back installation

12/19/11 20:26:03 - Caught cancelation exception while running install actions

12/19/11 20:26:03 - Updating install progress: 8 / 13, Preparing to roll back...

12/19/11 20:26:03 - Updating rollback progress: 8 / 13, Preparing to roll back...

12/19/11 20:26:03 - Updating rollback progress: 8 / 13, Rolling back Microsoft .Net v3.5 SP1

Roxio email support has not been very helpful.... just pointing me to the same thing over and over (patching, drivers, etc).

Anyone have any ideas

It would be kind of hard for me to post the version from Help/about when I cant get the software to install. The box it came in say compatible for Win7 which is what I have. Other than that, I cant give any version info.

Try this first.>> http://forums.support.roxio.com/topic/77992-problems-installing-creator-pro-2010/page__view__findpost__p__389996

If that doesn't work, post your installation log files in this post.

Link explaining where and how.

Thanks for the response. When I try that, I get: You must use "Turn Windows features on or off" in the Control Panel to install or configure Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1.

I have attached the install log file

I have tried it with that unchecked, fully checked and just the .net checked (not the 2 items under it) and still get the same thing.

EDIT I missed this!

I have windows 7 enterprise x64 sp1

System Requirements, Microsoft® Windows 7 Home Premium (32- or 64-bit), Microsoft® Windows Vista™ Home Basic SP2, Windows® XP SP3 (32-bit) or SP2 (64-bit),

I don't know how PC skilled you are?

Export the registry first.

Can you locate this in the registry and what is the SP DWORD (1) or (0)?

The value is 1. The 1033 folder looks just like the one in your screenshot.

I dont think Windows 7 Enterprise is a server operating system. It is just an enterprise version of 7 for desktops. I havent had any issues with other Roxio products in the past such as the cd creator product. I dont have it installed any more so I cant remember the name of it. If Enterprise is not supported, it would have been really nice of Roxio support to point that out when I opened a ticket. Anyhow, thanks for your help.

If your ticket is open ask them, or reopen a ticket.

Maybe I'm wrong!

It's the Christmas and New Years holiday season, it may take a while to get a answer.

Phone Support

Note: The most recent releases of our flagship products (Creator, DVDit, and Toast) receive free phone support. To upgrade, call our sales team at 1-877-793-7480 (Monday - Friday, 9:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M., EST) or go to the Roxio Upgrade Center.

Easy VHS to DVD is not a flagship product. Phone support will cost you $'s.

Check your spam folder for the Roxio reply. unsure.gif

smann has been in contact with support several times.

Roxio email support has not been very helpful.... just pointing me to the same thing over and over (patching, drivers, etc).

With his PC skills I doubt he missed a email sitting in his spam folder.
