:)  I purchased the download of 8 and also the CDs.  I have not download
the program.  Can I just use the CDs I received to install the program?

Also should I remove Version 7.

What happened when you tried this? Did it work?

Your option on V7. The two do not conflict.

I haven't tried it yet.  I'm asking the question before I try it.  Maybe I will try it
later today.  I hope it works and for the present I will leave Ver. 7.5 on

Joan :)

I tried installing from the Backup Disks.  Immediately it asked me to overwrite
a file and whether I said yes or no....I receive error code 000D.

I have XP, version 7 installed.  I turned off my internet security, changed to
1024x768.  I've asked the lady and they seem to have no error code for
000D.

I never had problems installing Ver 7.0 and update 7.5.  Who do I call, what
phone number and/or if I get no answer how do I cancel and get my
$106+ back

I don't know if you have to install from the download.  It was only a suggestion.  Try going to the main Roxio Web Board, and click on the My Roxio button.  You may get to the place where you can download it.

History:  I had downloaded from the net AND purchased the backup CDs; ran into the pop-up install issue; un-installed and used the backup CDs which resulted in the 000D error.

I got desparate last night and bought the full version from Costco last night (based on the fact that I could return it if necessary).  When I used the full version install - everything installed OK.  Now I am back to the pop-up errors when I bring up sereral of the products (DVD stuff in particular - the whole reason I bought it).

Based upon this experience it is my conclusion that the download and the full product CDs are the same.  The "backup" CDs are trash - don't rely on them.  AND the product has issues with the installation (and I have not seen a solution that works anywhere on the web - including this discussion group).

I have to agree with you 100%. I bought the download, and installed it. Worked fine for a day. the next time I clicked on the desktop icon, before selecting any of its applications, the suite states: "The feature your trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable." I'm not on a network, and use cable for my internet -- it's always on. The message goes on to say I must select a path to find 'Roxio Easy Media Creator 8 Suite.msi' A search of my HD show no such file.

I uninstalled Roxio ECM 8 and tried to install from the backup CDs supplied. I get the Error Code:000D. I tried re-installing from the D/L, the Error Code: 000D reappears.

There appears to be no technical support from Roxio for such an "expensive" application.

Nothing worked for me.  I just could not install V8 and like you and others
got no answer to the Error 000D.

I asked for my money back and Roxio credited my account.  Guess I'll use
Version 7 forever.  This is the first time I've ever had problems with any
of the Versions and Ver. 5 still works co-exists with V7.

Go figure.
