I just purchased the full retail version of Creator 2011 off of E-Bay for an unbelievably low price. I'm so excited to try it.

It came in today's mail in a very impressive looking retail box complete with a 'getting started guide', Roxio 3D glasses, and the install DVD w/key code.

I'm wondering if I need to uninstall 2009 before installing 2011? Anyone know for sure?

Need to ???

My personal opinion is yes, remove Creator 2009.  Make sure you have no personal resources (images, video, etc. In any of the Roxio folders.  Use this to uninstall Creator 2009 (link).

Thanks sknis, you've been incredibly helpful.

I did a complete removal using a free 30 day trial of Revo Uninstaller Pro. I was a little nervous using it, but it seemed to have done the job.

I updated some of my drivers, installed Creator 2011, and am happy to say that the video trimmer is working again.

Life is good.

So, I upgraded from Creator 2009 to 2011 and now I am having the exact same problem... the video trimmer in 2011 is no longer working. I can see the picture in the two boxes top left and right, but the center box is blacked out and so I cannot playback or see the video that I am trying to trim. It is so frustrating.

Could someone please help???

So what has changed on your system or what changes/updates have you made since Jan 2012 when you stated that it was working?

Nothing has changed - aside from installing all the latest automatic updates via Windows Updates.
