It may be a problem with DRM protection.  The following may apply.

Trying to play a newer commercial disc?  They change the protection scheme so often that Roxio could not keep up with all the changes.  DVD players are frequently updated so it will play on that.  The "bad guys" assume that if you put a commercial disc in a computer DVD drive, that you are trying to copy it. This was first seen with Avitar and has continued since then.  Roxio no longer sells the BR plug in for computers. What they sell is for making a BR disc and playing it on a BR DVD player.

You can still play non-commercial disc (ones that you made) on your DVD BR player.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

Laptop - Windows 7 Home
Dell XPS 1645, Intel I7 1,6G with overdrive ,4G RAM, 1 GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730, Sound Blaster X-Fi MB Panzer, 500G hard drive.

It's OEM software, your best and only bet is with Asus support.

Captain America 2011 doesn't seem to have any new BD+ protection.

Hi guys and gals. I have a similar if not identical problem with my Asus g73sw laptop. Mine also came with Cineplayer BD installed and will play some blu ray discs just fine, but the first disc I put in came up with a red background screen and the message "your blu-ray player needs to be updated". The disc I was trying at the time is a recent release called "Water for Elephants". When I opened a ticket with Roxio about this I was told that they no longer sell this product. I have a ticket#, but cant figure out how to reopen the ticket  Any and all help would be appreciated.

Yeah, I have a support ticket with Asus as well. I guess I'll just wait and see how that goes. I was kinda hoping somebody somewhere had a magic answer

OK, i have had some time to read some older threads and I see that my question was in fact asked and answered. Sorry for bringing it up again. I know how irritating that can be. Thanks.
