Ok -  I had a very old version of Sonic that came with my computer.  I just started using Roxio and I want to know if this is the best practice for Photos to DVDs.

I have 5 different slideshows that I want to put on DVD.  I would like a menu and some back ground music.

I have been playing with the features and I  think this is it.

Create seperate movies of each slide show using Videowave.
Convert them to MPEG.
Bring them into MyDvd and finalize my movie.
Burn

The biggest issue I have so far is some of the pictures look bad when previewing on my computer.    These are very high quality digital camera pics that look great elsewhere.  I have yet to burn to dvd yet to see how they are on my dvd player.

I have the latest drivers on my computer.

Is there a better way?

Thanks all

It is not necessary to output the videowave project to MPEG. Just save the videowave project, then open MyDVD and add movie, which will be the .dmsm file(videowave project). At this point you can construct your menu etc. Most feel that burning to an .iso file to hard drive then burn it to a DVD using disc copier is the most compatable method of getting the project on a DVD. Be sure to uncheck burn to disc and check burn to image file. You can direct it to be saved where you want, it will most likely defaults to MyVideo folder. Be sure and choose best setting for burning.

Since you have multiple slideshows and want them as separate movies, be sure and indicate in the name of each slideshow one, two, three so you know which order you want to add them to MyDVD.

Quality in previewer is not what you will see on the DVD. If you have a DVD RW and if your set top will play them you could burn a test so you could view it and see if it is acceptable. This way you can reuse the RW for future testing. Not to be used as permenent burning because they aren't long lasting.

That is not a bad idea about picking up some DVD RWs.  I have a few coasters from my practice.  Sometimes it is the simple things that we miss.

I will give this a go!  Thanks for suggestion.

I am sure I will be back.

In v8 here are the instructions for burning an.iso, a little simpler then I described.

If you right click on the file the top line in the box that pops up should say burn with Disc Copier.Click it and Disc Copier will open.Put in a blank disc and hit Copy Now.

If I read this wrong and you're trying to make a .iso file, when you hit burn uncheck the box next to your DVD drive and check the one that says Save disc image file.

Let me know how it works for you. :)
