Captured a VCR tape to disk.
This plays back just fine.
Burned disk file to DVD and began playback in our VCR.  Video breaks up some but audio is almost 90% missing.

What is the method to get a playable DVD?

Using Easy VHS to DVD, (Build 201B23A ENU) on Win7 32bit.

Of course you can't copy copy righted material, it is illegal and cannot be discussed here...

What is the total length of the capture?

I suspect that the quality is being degraded so much in trying to put it onto a regular DVD that your Player is having trouble :glare:

DVD Time – DVD Capacity
4.7Gb:
HQ = 1:06
SP = 1:37
LP = 2:22

8.5 Gb:
HQ = 2:00
SP = 2:57
LP = 4:19
ELP = 5:35

BUT! Anything less than HQ does not work with a captured VHS tape since the quality was not that good to start with. :huh:

Why don't you get a disc or 2 of DVD RW (reusable) and try a test burn after trimming it to 1 hour length. Keep the 'bad' part for the test ;)

Total length of recording is 1 hr 58 min. which I burn to two 1 hr DVDs (4.7G).  Both DVD's show the same audio problem.  I even lowered the record volumn in case it was being overloaded but that only made it worse.

I'll try some other options you suggest and get back with you --- maybe later tonight.

Ok - let us know!

Some other things would be to check for updates to your Audio drivers as well as your Video Card for both drivers as well as its' Software ;)

Sorry it took so long to get back.  Busy week.
    Successfully copied VCR tape using highest sampling rate direct to DVD-DL disk.  However I need to be able to edit the finished capture.
    I need to be able to capture to hard drive for editing, backup and then burn to DVD.  I find no option to change the capture quality during record to computer mode.  Saving to computer after editing and setting for high quality mode then importing the resulting file and burning to DVD was not successful, audio still suffered from severe interruptions - drop-out.
    All drivers appeared to be up to date and are loading.

Do you also have the dropout when you play the video file on your computer?

BTW, the preferred method is to capture to computer then edit then burn.

What do you mean by "burned CD is fine"?  Fine where? What CD, I thought you were trying to create a video DVD?

Could you explain, step-by-step, what you are doing?

    Sorry mistyped.  Burned DVD -- exported to DVD
    Recorded VCR to computer.  Edited to remove leading and training 'stuff'
    Exported to new computer file at highest quality available
    Imported new computer file from previous step
    Exported to DVD-RW
    Tested new DVD on computer -- no dropped audit -- sounds good
    Tested new DVD on DVD player on tv -- audio dropping out

What export setting, format?
Imported to what? What then?   Please give some details not just generic responses.

If you created a standard video DVD and that plays correctly on your computer then the problem is between the media you are using and your DVD player.

Maybe your DVD player will  not play RW's....what's the user manual say. Try it on another DVD player (and again verify it supports RW's).

Not only RW's as almost all DVD Players will but with a note... 'not all discs may be suitable for playback'...

Every player will have that Save Your A-- clause :lol:

It really looks as though your media or player are the problem ;)

    You may be correct.  Will take a few days to locate and test on another DVD player.

    Will let you know the outcome.

Also, get yourself some quality media. Verbatim & Taiyo Yuden (JVC).
