This was a gift for my birthday, was really excited to receive it, inserted the cd into my computer and followed the instructions, was told that the computer needed to shut down to continue the installation, when the computer started up again I recieved a message stating that the something like a certificate was corupted and to reinstall. I can't seem to reinstall the cd as it won't come back on my computer...what do I do now...ready to take it  back where it was purchased...tried looking in the support, but that was totally useless...any suggestions?

First, tell us what program you got for Christmas.  There are at least three possibilities.  One would be a version of "Creator 2009, 2010, 2011 , 2012", the other would be a version of  "Easy LP to CD" and the third would be a version of "Record Now"

Next tell us about your computer - make and complete model number please.  You may get that type of error if the coputer doesn't have the minimum requirements.

A corrupted certificate is relatively easy to fix but we need more information.

Please explain the " I can't seem to reinstall the cd as it won't come back on my computer"

You are welcome to take the program back if that is what you want to do but most places will not take back open software.  They may exchange it if you show that the disc is corrupted.

Also please remember that we are users and not Roxio support.  We have no monetary stake in you returing the software.

Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

To answer some of your questions, my computer is a Hewlett Packard, model HP G62 notebook computer with Windows 7 Home Premium.  The processer is an AMD Athlon II P320 Dual-Core Processor with 2.10 GHz.

The software I received is the Roxio easy LP to MP3 that is compatible with Windows 7.

I installed the cd into my drive, then it said that the computer had to shut down.  When the computer came back on, a message read that the certificate was corrupted and to reinstall software.  I deleted everything off the computer and tried to reinstall the software, but nothing would come back on the computer.

Any help would be greatly appricated...thank you so much for your reply.  Hope to hear back from you.

Ok this may take some work and guessing.  First update your computer using this general outline.   Don't worry about firmware update for your burner but make sure you update your audio device.

Download and install Revo Uninstaller.  Open it and see if "Easy Lp ot MP3" is installed.  If it is, uninstall it with that program but make sure you use the MODERATE Mode.  OK deleting the registry entries and folders.  If you get any other messages that you don't understand post them here before going further.

Now put the program DVD in the drive and copy the dvd to a folder on your hard drive.  Open that and you should see and exe file.  click on that.

What audio device do you have on that computer?
