We got a new computer and installed Roxio Creator 2010 Special Edition (on Windows 7 Home Edition). My husband said installation went fine. My dad purchased this software some time ago and never tried to run it. Now that I'm trying, I can't get it to even start. The little status thing gets to "Loading Roxio Central Search Support" and goes no further. I've installed the service pack. I've tried running it in compatibility mode in XP and Vista, etc. It does the same thing every time. Now I do research and I'm not very hopeful that I'll ever get it running. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Don't run it in compatibility mode !
What new computer do you have - make and model? Does it meet or exceed theminimum specifications for the application and do you have the required software installed?
Turn off your anti-virus and put the disc back into the drive. Select to repair if you get that options. if not, remove the program using this (link); update the "new" computer (obsolete out of the box) using these guidelines, (no need to update the firmware for your burner) keep the anti-virus off and reinstall.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

Thank-you so much!! I tried the first option, turning off anti-virus and running Repair. It now actually starts the program! I haven't figured out how to do anything with it yet, but at least it opens for me!
The learning center at the bottom of the Home page is a place to start.
If you are using the program to make videos and slide shows, read this.
