What kind of DVD movie? If a commercial DVD it propably has copyright protection and Roxio will not do it since that is illegal.

TRUE!

But it should not crash even then...

First try a different source! Pick a vidoe file on your PC.

If it still crashes, then try this...

Do the Prep Steps to the letter!

Then start the install of the Suite, only pick Repair when it is offered.

If you have a commercial movie; it probably came with a second disc that will allow you to install it on a portable device. Many new disc are that way just so you can load it on a portable device. Did you get that second disc? . You will need to get the authorization codes from the disc and from the manufacturer of the discs. If you did not get a second disc, then you will need to talk to Apple about getting the video to the IPad.

If it is an older movie and you don't have the digital copy, you are probably out of luck (legally).

You do not "own the movie". All you bought is a physical disc and the rights to play the video on that disc via a DVD player. You do not have the right to make copies of that DVD except for the "Special situation" as outlined by sknis.

Correct!

But even with a commercial movie it should not crash!

This is a commercial movie - note the 'Locks' and the fact that the 'OK' button never can be selected...

That is what you should see, not a crash.

As Jim posted even if a commercial movie it still should not crash. So there is still something wrong. Have you tried it with a "home made DVD"?
