Thanks for the link. I looked real quick on Best Buy, but didn't think about Newegg. I have Roxio Creator 2012 plus. I took some video on the FXP setting which recorded at 1,920 x 1080 and it looked great on the TV when I played it right from the camera. My goal is to make a DVD that will look the same as when I played it right from the camera. I want to limit the compression. I think I need to get the Blu ray plug in, a burner and of course 25 GB blank DVD's. Should that do it? Anything else I should be aware of when picking out a burner or media? We've got a trip to Disney and I want to make sure I can burn high quality disks for the Grandparents when we get back.
Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your help.
How long a disc (time) do you want to make? You can make a high definition AVCHD disc with what you have now and a good quality standard DVD but it does need to be played with a compatible blu-ray player. For now why don't you try it to see if it meets your needs before spending the noney for the blu-ray burner. Iyt will be 1920 by 1080 at high quality (frame rate) IF you don't try to squeeze too much onto the disc.
You can put about 40 minutes of video on one AVCHD disc. If you want more, you still are ahead if you break the trip into two or more 40 minute sessions.
Read this; it is not fool proof but it usually result in a good quality high definition disc. Remember that DVD quality is important. No Memorex / stor brands/etc. The best for now are Verbatim and JVC Toiyo Yuden (on line only).

Rosewell is neweggs in house brand. Manufacture is farmed out to the cheapest bidder. Are you looking to buy cheap? Chances are that if you do, there will be several coasters in a batch of disc. You are going to spend a lot of time to make the production; what is a few cents more for quality disc compared to that time spent doing it and then perhaps doing it again !
Look here.
I just found out that some of the Rosewell discs are made by Moser Baer . Highly variable quality.
JVC Toiyo Yuden can be bought here. as well as other on-line dealers. If you have a printer that will print directly on a DVDS, then their white water shield looks great when printed.

82 countries including the US, ever heard of them or seen that brand name? You probably won't because they make media under other company's brand names!

Besides a BD Player you will also need a HD TV to view these on
I also have one of the Canon camcorders and mostly use the FXP mode. Since most of my recordings will fit on a DVD or DVD DL, I use the AVCHD output extensively

Any error or crash messages? What happens when you go to burn?
Have you tried burning the project to an ISO file or folder set? That would separate the error of burning to one with the project you are trying to burn. Are you getting a message about folder with parenthesis? This is for an AVCHD disc but it might be useful
Note a HD DVD is not the same as a blu-ray DVD. HD DVD is pretty much obsolete.
