To Brendon and others:
Is it worth the trouble to take apart EP to get EZ5 working, or just spring for 2012?

Sorry, what's EP and how do you have to take it apart?

ECDC 5 is quite easy to install under XP, and that's what I understood you were asking about when I suggested you come down here.

As far as "worth it" goes, I guess that's a very individual thing. Some find ECDC 5 very small on disk and in memory, useful, and containing all the things they need.
Others would prefer to be on the bleeding edge of technology and think nothing of paying the $US130 [or $110 after $20 mail-in rebate] that is being charged for Creator 2012 Pro. HERE

The decision is entirely yours.

Meantime, do you have some questions about that pinned post on installing ECDC 5?

Regards,
Brendon

I'm dumb. I mean XP. I have IE 8.0.6001.18702 and WMP 11. I'll work on this pinned post.
Thanks a bunch Brendon.

Ah, a typo. That's not dumb. That's nothing - I do 'em a lot myself :)

I understand now. I've been working for another gent to get Creator 5 working with IE8, and we're having much difficulty with it.

I'm afraid I don't know the rollback procedures for IE and WMP. I was a 'wuss' and just avoided the updates to those applications once users started to complain. I'll see if there's someone else who can point you toward them.

Roll back IE 8 to IE 7.

Roll back of WMP 11 to WMP 10 is not as simple.  Try the IE change first.

Use Revo Uninstaller to uninstall WMP 11.  Use the moderate mode only and then install WMP 10. Download here.

Here is a long discussion   about uninstalling WMP 11 and the issues related to a drm file foler.

I left my os as it is, cause it works good. Bought NCH software for $40.00, and it's working just fine.
I'll fire up the old E-Machine with W98 if I need EZCD 5.
Thank you.
