Hi all,

I'm hoping you can help me with this problem that I've encountered many times, and can't seem to find a solution after many hours of trying.

I'm simply trying to copy and convert a short 6 min DVD and convert into a web suitable mp4 using Roxio Creator 2010.

The DVD is a company DVD with no security/ duplication restrictions that I'm aware of.

Steps i've taken:

1. In copy & convert, select source - Movie
2. Select the DVD chapter from the file menu
3. The DVD is captured, however it is in 4:3 aspect instead of 16:9.
4. I try converting anyway into a 16:9 mp4, however the result is a distorted 4:3 with black bars filling out the 16:9 format.

I've also tried capturing in VideoWave, however the same result occurs - The video is captured as 4:3 instead of 16:9

Update 1:40pm:

Here's a screenshot of the movie properties - Interestingly it is saying the movie is 4:3. Not sure why this is, as when I veiw the DVD, it is clearly in 16:9 aspect.

Cheers,

Jon

Are you sure it is 16.9?

GSpot is a free utility that will tell you if your video is 4.3 or 16.9 current version 2.70a   http://gspot.headbands.com/

720x 576 is 720x576 (DV-PAL) isn't it?

Under options in Video copy and convert are you set to NTSC or PAL?
