I then opened IE9 and browsed to a page which was showing a video. No video showed in the Source box and all the buttons were greyed out. I read in another post that virus protection should be turned off, so I did but still no luck. Please tell me what I am doing wrong.

You won't see anyhting until after you shut down that IE window and then a little time after that. If you click on the little window in Internet web capture window (where you expect to see the video), do you see anything?
Not all video can be captured by the program. Are you downloading from You Tube or another source? It is possible that what you are trying to capture is DRM or otherwise protected.

I'm checking it now.
Are you trying to capture Live broadcast or a video highlight?
How long in time?
I think that site is blocking it somehow.
Try this 2:00 minute video from youtube.
