In device manager with the Roxio USB Device plugged into a USB Port do you show a listing under other devices?
A screen shot of the above might help.

With the USB Device plugged in, open device manager, right click one entry, then click uninstall, then do the same for the other.
Now remove the USB Device and reboot the PC (no usb device plugged in).
When the PC is rebooted put your installation disc in a drive like your going to install it (no USB Device plugged in). The repair option should show, click it and when it finishes remove the disc and reboot the PC.
When the PC is up and running open device manager and plugin the Roxio USB Device, do these two entries show in the bottom pic?

Tried this and when I connected the usb a yellow exclamation mark light up and it showed USB 2861 Device then flashed back (disapeared) and it now shows Roxio Video capture & USB Audeo device as before.
Hi Jim
I have 2 new flat screen TV's plus a fairly new plasma and they all have svid and audio connections on them, is there any way of checking if they are output or only input? as previously said I have 4 VHS players and non have these connections.

Are you sure you removed the USB device after deleting those two entries from Device Manager and rebooted the PC?
And never plugged the USB Device back in until you ran repair and rebooted the PC?

To find out which type of jacks are in or out check the user manual for the TV's, if you dont have the manuals do a search on the internet for them.
Your VCR players probably have Scart jacks so you will need a cable like this http://www.cables-le...ca-cable-1-5m/.
Then you just connect the VCR into the Roxio device then plug the USB into your computer and forget about the TV involvement.
