Just purchased 2012 Pro and am trying to make a DVD using 'Create DVD' from main menu. I keep getting a 'Change Display settings' popup telling me that I need at least 1024x768 and 16 bit.
I am running Win7 on 1920x1076 32 bit, using ATI Radeon HD 4600 seies card with latest driver (12.1) direct from AMD. The card connects to a Sony flatscreen via HDMI.
This is the first time I have ever had a problem running software on this setup, and I've been using it for nearly 3 years. I had a qiuck try at changing settings to 1024x768 16 bit, but still got the same popup.
Is there a solution, or do I go for a different program?

I am guessing "1920 X 1076"was a typo???

Update your Video Driver and Caytlist software: AMD.

When you start Roxio you should then see the Your Video Card is being profiled message...

Sorry - should read 1920 x 1080! Had latest driver from ATI, but just installed 12.2 preview driver. Same problem. I haven't seen anything resembling a "Your Video Card is being profiled" message at any time!

Run the graphics test in MY DVD under Tool, Options.

Your Sony TV what is it's highest resolution?

What DPI setting are you using?

Try cd's ideas, I forgot about the dpi

I would avoid ever using any Beta (Preview) Drivers!!! Uninstall it and reinstall the 12.1 ;) (this should also kick in the Profiling your Video Card)

If it's simpler, can you find the stored video profile file and delete it?
P4 @3.20GHz on Albatron PX-865PE Pro II with 2GB DDR-SDRAM, FX5900XT video, Viewsonic monitors,
DVDRW IDE 16X, in Windws XP, 7, and 8

So, what happens now?

Can't run graphics test in My DVD - same popup! Sony max. is 1920 x 1080, which is what I'm running on. I'll try a complete uninstall and reinstall of 12.1.

** UPDATE:forgot that I had altered dpi settings to 150% so that text would be more legible on big screen.... changed back to default 100% and profiling done, program running.

I wonder what will happen if I change dpi settings back to 150% now...?

I run my SAMSUNG T260HD Monitor on the recommended setting 1920 x 1200 with DPI set at medium 125% and I have never had a problem with "Change Display settings popup telling me that I need at least 1024x768 and 16 bit."

Don't know if it is related to what video card/chip your running. I've used a Asus ATI 4600HD 512MB 256-bit GDDR5 and a Asus GeForce GTX 460 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 with the Samsung Monitor at 125% DPI setting with no problem.
