Thanks very much. Hopefully now I can finally get it sorted!

I was in Skipton last October, could have dropped in to help you.

Visiting relatives in Crossflats....her 50th birthday.

Cheers

Well I got the scart adaptor today, and have just tried it again, but I am back to getting "No Video Signal". I have checked that the drivers are installed properly, and have connected the cable to the scart adaptor that I need. But still nothing. I am completely stumped - any ideas?

Just to double check....you have got the scart plugged into the AV2 jack (see diagram in post 17) and the other end (the Yellow/Red/White) into the Roxio device. If not, how do you have it connected.

Yes, I have the adaptor plugged into the AV2 (Decoder) socket on the back of the video player, and then connected to the roxio device. There is an "in" and "out" switch on the scart adaptor, and I have tried it on both settings.

Your in the AV2 jack for sure (the top one on the back).

The switch should be in the  Out position.

Just to review ....you have a tape in the player,  press play, select VCR mode (the VCR green light should come on).... you should get a picture on your computer screen, and if your TV is hooked up to the VCR it should be there. It should also work if you put a DVD in,(instead of a VHS tape),  just select DVD mode.

I made a edit to my last post. Do you have another DVD player that we could use for a test.

EDIT

Can you take that same cable that you have connected to the Roxio unit and connect it to your TV...this would prove that there is a good signal coming out of you DVD/VCR player.
