I had to remove Pinnacle Studio 10, and after doing it Easy Media Creator 8 stoped working. I tried to run the repair function, and it balked saying certain msi files were missing. I uninstalled EMC 8 to reinstall and it will not reinstall saying certificate file missing, or update patch missing. Also upon uninstalling my cd drives were no longer seen, so I had to do a system restore.
How can I fix this mess?
Thanks Steve

Keep in mind that I could be totally ofbase here but

It looks as though this is caused by the removal of Pinnacle Studio 10 because the removal of certain non-Roxio applications that share file resources with Roxio software can cause problems. To fix, you will need to replace these files with this fix utility:

http://tools.roxio.c...isum_hotfix.exe

Be sure all Sonic and Roxio applications are shut down before launching this utility. This hotfix requires a reboot. No reinstallation of the software is necessary.

Please post whether this worked and if it didnt then we will be more than happy to give furthur advise :-)

Doing a google search on that error, I found out that it means there is still parts of the program on your computer... Try running roxizap in order to make sure that everything is completely removed from your computer, and then reinstall.
My opinions expressed are not those of roxio.

I ran roxizap, but it says it removes traces of version 4 & 5. In any case I got to the same place with the same error 2753.
Any other suggestions?
This is really getting to be a hassle.
I appreciate the help.

I just got the program installed with a suggestion from Roxio Tech support who finally responded. They said to rename C:\Program Files\Common Files\Roxio Shared to roxio shared old. That solved that problem, except now when I try to use the label creator it is trying to configure EMC 7.
Any ideas on this one? I am hoping that Roxio will answer in a more timely fashion and I will post the results for whatever fix works for anyone else who might have a similar problem.
