i have used toast in the past but am not familiar with spanned data or toast's "restore" functions.
i had a hard drive replaced in an ibook g4 last week. the techs were able to recover data from my old hard drive and created spanned dvds of my files.
if i restore folders that have been recreated on my new hard drive:
• will toast overwrite the entire folders thus deleting new items or info on my new drive?
• will it create duplicate copies of files that exist on the new drive if they existed on the old drive?
• will it know what to copy? (only copy items that do not already exist?)
please help. i want most of my old data back but do not want to lost the new stuff.

Did they use Toast to span those discs? If so, when you restore the data, you can specifiy the location to restore it to. Just restore it to your desktop or something and then go in and grab just the files you want.
